Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 29 October 2026

In short: one purchase gives you a licence to use hackathon.fund version 1.x on one computer, with every 1.x update free. Your ideas stay on your computer. Hackathon details and AI results can be wrong, so always check the official hackathon page.

1. About these terms

The hackathon.fund app and this website are provided by ABISHEK MUTHIAN ("we", "us", "our"). By buying, downloading, installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not buy or use the app.

2. Your licence

When you buy hackathon.fund, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use version 1.x of the app on one computer. Each additional computer needs its own licence. If you replace your computer, you may move the app to the new one as long as you remove it from the old one.

You buy a licence to use the app, not the app itself. We keep all rights to the app, its name and its design. You may not:

  • copy, share, rent, sell or give away the app or your licence;
  • remove, bypass or disable any part of the app, including its update or licensing features;
  • reverse engineer or modify the app, except where the law allows it.

3. Updates

Your licence includes every 1.x update at no extra cost, delivered through the app's built-in updater. The next major release (version 2.0) will be a separate purchase, and the version you own keeps working. Updates may add, change or remove features.

4. What the app needs

The app runs on the computers listed on this website. It needs an internet connection to download its hackathon catalog, its AI models, currency exchange rates and app updates. The AI models are made by Google and are provided under the open-source licences listed on the app's About page.

5. Your ideas and data

Your startup ideas, saved hackathons and settings are stored only on your computer. We never receive them, and they remain yours. Because we do not hold a copy, you are responsible for backing them up. Removing the app or its data may delete them permanently.

6. Hackathon information

The hackathon catalog is built from public listings on hackathon websites run by others. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, those websites or any hackathon organiser. Listings can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, so check the official hackathon page before you apply.

Each hackathon has its own rules, eligibility, deadlines and prize terms, set by its organiser. We do not guarantee that you will win anything. Prizes are awarded and paid by the organisers, not by us.

7. AI match scores and explanations

Match scores and "why it fits" notes are produced automatically by AI running on your computer. They can be wrong or incomplete. They are suggestions only and are not legal, financial or professional advice. Decisions about which hackathons to enter are yours.

8. Fair use

Do not use the app to break the law, or in a way that overloads or interferes with the websites it reads hackathon listings from.

9. Payment

Purchases are processed by our payment gateway. The price, including any applicable taxes, is shown at checkout before you pay.

10. Refunds

You can ask for a refund within 7 days from the date of purchase. By accepting a refund, you agree to stop using the app. The full details are in our Refund Policy.

11. Ending your licence

Your licence ends automatically if you break these terms or receive a refund. When it ends, you must stop using the app and delete it from your computer.

12. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.

13. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost profits, lost prizes or missed deadlines. Our total liability to you for anything related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this website with a new "Last updated" date. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

16. Contact

For any question about these terms, open the hackathon.fund app and go to About > Support.
